Do you have experience in a birth setting and with newborns?
Besides being a mom of 6 and nana of 5, I have almost 30 years experience as a labor and birth doula. I have also taken many childcare courses along with safe handling practices for infants, CPR and 1st Aid.
What should we bring if we have a studio newborn session?
You should bring what you’ll need for yourself and baby for feeding and diaper changes. I do have diapers and supplies on hand, in case you forget. If you have something of your own that you wish to bring with you, please feel free to do so. I also have hats, headbands, various outfits, along with other simple props that you are welcome to choose from!
Can the photos include the baby and older siblings?
The answer to that question is YES! For studio sessions, it’s a good idea to have the siblings taken out as soon as their part is over since the studio is rather cozy and warm. If we are holding the session in your home, having someone who can take the siblings to go play while we finish up is probably a good idea, too. Even if the siblings are young it is still possible to get some awesome images. I have lots of tricks and different ways to make it happen, but little ones are unpredictable and you never know how it’ll go.
When do we pay you?
Your deposit of $95 is due at the time of scheduling and signing the contract. The remainder is due no later than the day of your session or the day of the baby’s birth if for a Birth Story session.
Can I order actual prints from you?
Yes you can and it is something that is highly recommended! This is especially true if you are wanting large size prints. You will definitely notice a difference in quality between what you receive from me and what you receive from a big box store.
